How it Works

The JUG’s unique design allows horses to see and smell clean water. They don’t have to learn to lift flaps or push balls and floats out of the way; they just use their natural sucking method to drink from the open hole. To show the animals where the water is located, an external adjusting screw is used to raise the level of the water in the drinking bowl. After they locate the water source the level is re-adjusted to the normal drinking level. Easy for you and your animals.

The JUG is the first waterer to be three-sided. This 90 degree corner mounting design gives a snug fit into the stall and leaves only a smooth, rounded surface exposed to the pen keeping animals safer. The 303 has the unique, patented Draw Tube/Trap which keeps debris from falling into the reservoir. This means clean water without continual maintenance. For seasonal maintenance, an external expansion drain plug makes cleaning simple.

The JUG 303 is available with a low wattage heating element located in the supply area…NOT in the water. This protects the JUG from freezing while also protecting your animal against stray voltage, as the plastic will not conduct electricity.

The riser tube is made with rugged Schedule 80 PVC. It is super insulated to provide protection against freeze up as well as lower the energy cost in winter. The heating elements are controlled with an AIR SENSITIVE thermostat. This option is available in the standard 6 ft. length as well as 2 foot long extensions. The water & electric lines run underground below the frost level in your area. The 303 Riser Tube protects the water supply line from the cold by insulating it in urethane foam. Additional protection is provided to the water line with a low wattage air space heater.
